TNYC STEM Fair has two rounds of judging; 1- Preliminary Round (virtual) and 2- Finals Round (in-person). The Preliminary Round is judged asynchronously. Usually, 20-30% of the projects at the Preliminary Round advance to the Finals Round. The Finals Round is judged in-person. TNYC STEM Fair exhibitors compete for a variety of awards. The culminating prize is advancing to the international round and representing NYC at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). 13 projects will advance to the Regeneron ISEF fair, which is held in person at different major cities in the US, usually in the third week of May. TNYC ISEF Finalist team will join all other Terra Fairs ISEF Finalists from NY state to compete with over 1800 finalists from around the world.
